Fix loading messages not being properly displayed and clean up related code

Make sure that the message from the engine is used instead of having
this in multiple places.
Also, the forwarding of messages in the page was to large parts unneeded
or defunct.
Since the ErrorDisplayer directly connects to the engine, we can just
drop the forwarding signals.
