Revert "Add appropriate licensing, and change app license to GPLv3"

This reverts commit 74300abc.

Part of reverting commit 535b4b4a. The
code added by that commit is still the only GPL-3.0-only code in the
entire application, so reverting it removes the GPL-3.0-only code.
